August 22 2025
AUBURN, Ala. - On Aug. 20, 2025, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Georgia State Patrol, arrested Demtreus Vontrail Davis, age 30, from Conley, Georgia, on felony warrants charging him with identity theft and theft of property first degree.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report involving a forged check on Dec. 5, 2024. A victim reported that a check was posted for mail at a location in Auburn in Dec. 2024. The check was then stolen, altered and deposited into a bank account associated with an unknown suspect.
After further investigation, Demtreus Vontrail Davis was developed as a suspect and arrest warrants were obtained. Georgia State Patrol located Davis and arrested him in obedience to the outstanding warrants.
Davis was detained in the Henry County Jail in Georgia and, after waiving extradition, transported to the Auburn Police Department on Aug. 20, 2025 where the arrest warrants were executed. Davis was then transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $10,000 bond.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
